In the summer of 2026,

the world’s best sailors will gather in the heart of Scandinavia as Gamla Stans Yacht Sällskap (GSYS), in collaboration with the City of Stockholm and the Swedish Sailing Federation, proudly hosts the Team Racing World Championship.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Stockholm’s archipelago, this championship will bring fast-paced competition, teamwork, and world-class sailing to one of Europe’s most iconic waterfronts. Over several thrilling days, teams from across the globe will compete for the world title in a celebration of skill, strategy, and sportsmanship — all within reach of the city’s vibrant culture, history, and summer energy.

Racing days will run from August 12 to August 16. Including practice opportunities on the 12th.

2x2, meaning each team will sail two boats, with a maximum of 8 team members, of whom at least 2 must be of each gender.
The event will consist of a qualifying series and final races, sailed in J/80 keelboats, without downwind sails (Spinnakers or Gennakers).
Racing will be umpired on the water, with officials appointed by World Sailing.
Entry fee is set at 4.000 Euro. The fee gives participants access to breakfast, lunch, social events, Regatta Dinner and Prizegiving Ceremony.
